Prefilter
For the pre-filtration of smoke plume generated during
surgical procedures
INSTRUCTIONS
BFPF7/8 Prefilter can be used with any ViroSafe
Filter with a 7/8” (22mm) port.
Precautions:
1. Single use only. Remove and discard prefilter after each surgical procedure.
2. Before installing or removing any filter, disconnect system from electrical
outlet.
3. Install a fluid collective device (BF P/N SCC1001) if excessive fluid is
expected. Failure to install a fluid collection device could cause filter
blockage and electrical damage.
Instructions:
1. For female ViroSafe
applications, Insert the BFPF7/8 Prefilter into the 7/8”
(22mm) port of the ViroSafe
Filter. The prefilter label should be facing
toward user. Press in completely to assure complete sealing. For male port
applications, use the provided 2” (5.08cm) cuff to facilitate the prefilter
insertion. Slide the cuff over the 7/8” (22mm) male connection of the filter and
then insert the prefilter into the cuff. Discard the cuff with the prefilter after
single use.
2. Attach a 7/8” (22mm) ID vacuum hose to the 7/8” (22mm) male connector
of the prefilter. Installation is complete.
3. At the end of the surgical procedure, disconnect smoke evacuator from
electrical outlet. Carefully remove BFPF7/8 prefilter from the ViroSafe Filter.
4. Dispose of BFPF7/8 prefilter in accordance with local codes. Used prefilters
should be considered as potentially infectious waste.
